Struggling Soccer Team Installs Virtual Fans

With attendence at their games dwindling, an Italian soccer group comes up with an surprising solution: cover their dull stands with pictures of spectators.

Triestina already had it bad before the virtual fans showed up. The club, which plays in Italys Serie B division, was drawing reduction than 4,000 spectators per game, leaving many of the 32,454-seat track bare. Financial woes forced Triestina to close an entire territory of the stadium.

Now, to prove which theres no complaint so bad which we cant have it worse yourself, the bar has paper-covered over the dull seats with large posters written to have it look as if there is the crowd in the stands. Never thoughts which the fans have been all absolutely still as well as silent, or which theyre flat. Its similar to the giant combover, the bluff try to hide the shortcoming which just ends up creation it as conspicuous as possible.

Watch the video next as well as compare the genuine fans to the posters. Im not sure what Triestina was perplexing to get ahead by papering over their dull seats, but unless the have everyone acutely aware of how unpopular they are, it isnt working.

.

The posters do raise some engaging questions about because fans have been so critical to teams, though. Are the fake fans there to psych out opponents or distract Triestina players from thinking about how small await they have? Maybe theyre similar to the false tooth or the wig, the substitute written to cover up the absence of the blank piece?

Whatever the teams motivations, we cant assistance but feel sorry for them.
